Maleny for the day, the farm for the night
Maleny sits on the Blackall Range with its main street of cafes, galleries and the famous dairies, and most of the accommodation around it is a cottage on a quiet block. Ours is a little different: a working farm 20 minutes down the hill at Peachester, where the stays sit among paddocks of rescued and hand-raised animals you can feed whenever you like, an orchard, a kitchen garden and a creek.
That makes it a good fit for people who want Maleny’s food and views by day but something for the kids (or the inner kid) in the mornings and evenings. Drive up for the Sunday market and Maleny Dairies, walk the rainforest circuit at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, have lunch in Montville, then come back and feed the goats as the sun goes down behind the Glass House Mountains.
The four stays are all self-contained: Dovecote Cottage, a restored 120-year-old Queenslander with a wood fire and a clawfoot bath; Tiny House On The Hill with 180-degree views; Peachester Villa with five bedrooms; and Bahche House, the luxury four-bedroom option.
