Bahche House, a dark timber home with white trim and a lawn, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland

Farm Stay Sunshine Coast · Peachester, near Maleny

A luxury farm stay on the Sunshine Coast: two big houses and a working farm to yourselves

Most farm stays are a cabin and a paddock. Ours has those too, but it also has Bahche House, a stylish four-bedroom home with a chef's kitchen, two lounges, a wood fire and a Bali hut over a private creek, and Peachester Villa, five queen bedrooms on a private estate with a deck across the hinterland. Both sit on a working farm an hour from Brisbane where the animals are yours to feed.

The two big stays

Both are self-contained, both are on the farm, and both are priced for the whole place, not per person.

Bahche House

Four bedrooms for up to 8. Two lounge and entertainment areas, a fully equipped chef’s kitchen with gas cooktop and dishwasher, a wood fire, air conditioning, and two covered alfresco dining areas for long lunches. Velvet lounges, big windows onto the garden, black tapware in the bathroom. Out the back a Bali hut looks over a private creek where platypus, turtles and hundreds of birds live. From A$1,100 a night. See Bahche House.

Peachester Villa

Five queen bedrooms for up to 10. A lounge with a fireplace, a second living area, a large kitchen with an island bench, and a big covered deck for dinners looking out over the hinterland, on its own private estate with lawns, palms and lagoons. The farm animals are a two-minute drive away and villa guests have the same run of the farm. From A$797 a night. See Peachester Villa.

What luxury means on a farm

Not a spa menu or a concierge: a good house, a good kitchen, a fire, a view, and nobody else around. Bahche and the Villa are the places people book for a significant birthday, two families travelling together, three generations at Christmas, a group of friends who want to cook, or the wedding party staying near the Maleny and Montville venues. You arrive, get the map of the farm, and the place is yours until check-out.

The farm is the difference from a holiday house on the coast. The paddocks of rescued and hand-raised animals are a short walk from Bahche and a two-minute drive from the Villa, the orchard and kitchen garden are there for the picking in season, and the Glass House Mountains sit on the horizon at sunset. Children have the run of the place; adults have the deck.

For couples who want the luxury end without the bedrooms, Tiny House On The Hill is a designer tiny house with 180-degree views and an outdoor fire, and Dovecote Cottage is a restored 120-year-old Queenslander with a clawfoot bath and a wood fire. All four stays share the same farm.

What guests say

4.8 on Google from 35 reviews

“The kids (age 4 and 6) absolutely loved feeding the animals and talking to Wilson the cockatoo. The cottage was very clean and felt so warm, especially with the fireplace going every night. 5/5 experience for us and we’ll remember it forever.”

Questions about the bigger stays

How many people can stay?

Bahche House sleeps up to 8 in four bedrooms. Peachester Villa sleeps up to 10 in five queen bedrooms. For larger groups, book both, or add Dovecote Cottage (5) or the Tiny House (4): all four are on the same farm.

Is the price for the whole house?

Yes. Prices are per night for the whole place, not per person: Bahche House from A$1,100 a night and Peachester Villa from A$797 a night, with a two-night minimum.

Can we book Bahche and the Villa together for one group?

Yes. Search your dates and book each stay; they are on the same farm, a short drive apart, and share the animals, the orchard and the gardens. Email us if you want all four stays for one event and we will check the calendar for you.

Do you host weddings?

The farm has its own wedding business at Mango Hill Farm, and Peachester Villa is often booked by wedding parties staying near the Maleny and Montville venues. For a wedding on the farm itself, contact us and we will point you to the right people.

Do the houses have air conditioning and Wi-Fi?

Yes, both have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a washing machine and dryer, a dishwasher, a BBQ and free parking. Full lists are on each stay’s page.

How far are the animals from the houses?

A short walk from Bahche House, and a two-minute drive from Peachester Villa, which sits on its own estate. Guests in every stay get the same farm map and the same freedom to feed the animals whenever they like.

Is it suitable for grandparents and young children together?

That is the most common group. Both houses have a bedroom for everyone and room to spread out, the animals are gentle, rescued and hand-raised, and the drive from Brisbane is about an hour from the airport side of the city, 90 minutes from the CBD.

What do we pay when we book?

A 20% deposit, with the balance charged four weeks before you arrive. Stays less than four weeks away are paid in full when you book. Cancel 7 or more days before check-in and you get a credit for new dates.

Is there a last-minute or midweek deal on the houses?

The last-minute midweek deal covers the Tiny House and Dovecote Cottage only. Midweek is still the easiest time to get Bahche or the Villa, at the normal price.

Where is the farm?

Peachester, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland between the Glass House Mountains and Maleny: about an hour from Brisbane Airport, 90 minutes from the Brisbane CBD, 20 minutes from Maleny, 15 from Australia Zoo and 35 from the beach.
