Zoo by day, farm animals by evening
Most places to stay near Australia Zoo are motels and holiday units along Steve Irwin Way. We are the other option: a working farm 15 minutes inland at Peachester, where the stays are self-contained cottages and houses set among paddocks, and where feeding the animals is part of the deal rather than a ticketed extra.
It works well for families who want a full day at the Zoo without a long drive back, and for anyone visiting the Glass House Mountains: the lookouts, the walks at Mount Ngungun and Mount Tibrogargan’s base track, and the Beerwah and Glasshouse villages are all 15 to 20 minutes away. From the farm you can see the peaks at sunset.
From the ZooHead into Beerwah on Steve Irwin Way, then take Peachester Road west for about 15 minutes to Peachester. Gate details come with your booking.
From BrisbaneBruce Highway north, exit at the Glass House Mountains / Beerwah exit, through Beerwah to Peachester; about an hour from the airport.

Which stay for an Australia Zoo trip?
