The cottage
Dovecote Cottage is a fully restored 120-year-old Queenslander set in its own garden on our farm at Peachester, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Inside there are two bedrooms, a lounge with a wood fire and TV, a full kitchen and a bathroom with a clawfoot bath and shower. Outside, the wrap-around veranda is where most of the stay happens: breakfast with the chickens, a book in the afternoon sun, the sunset over the paddocks.
You get the whole cottage to yourselves. We live on the farm, so we're around if you need anything and out of the way if you don't. Pick seasonal produce from the organic kitchen garden, and bring carrots: the animals come to the fence for them whenever you visit.

What should we bring for the animals?
A bag of carrots. The animals are rescued and hand-raised, so they’re friendly, and you can feed them whenever you like during your stay. You’ll get a map of the farm at check-in.
How far is it from Brisbane and the coast?
About an hour from Brisbane Airport, 35 minutes to the beach, 20 minutes to Maleny and 15 minutes to Australia Zoo.

The 10.4acre farm has views to Mt Beerwah and much of the Glasshouse area and nearby macadamia and cattle farms.. Kookaburras, rosella’s, finches, whip birds, water dragons and dozens more hinterland animals love to nest in the native trees that run down the farm edge and along the forest walk by the creek. Our farm is home to goats, sheep, alpacas, chickens, cows, pigs and miniature horses.
